Dear community,

We are excited to announce the international symposium "AI-Experiences and Public Safety" which will take place at Erasmus University Rotterdam on April 8th and 9th.

While there is much discussion about the technical and legal aspects of AI, there is surprisingly little attention paid to the human factor. However, when we live, work and exist in a world where technological developments are the norm, we must also consider how individuals relate to AI in practice and their personal experiences with it - including residents, activists, asylum-seekers, police officers and platform workers, among others. Their experiential knowledge is valuable because it makes clear how AI applications are experienced in practice, with all the emotions and feelings that come into play, including forms of resistance.

Keynote speakers are Belgian philosopher Antoinette Rouvroy and affected mothers of the Dutch child benefits scandal<https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jan/15/dutch-government-resigns-over-child-benefits-scandal>.
