WHAT: A fully-funded, three-day writing workshop, sponsored by Edinburgh University through the Africa-Edinburgh Catalytic Partnership Fund 2023/24.

WHY: Riffing off Binyavanga Wainaina’s famous satirical essay “how to write about Africa”, the intention of this workshop is to engage in creative and generative ways with writing about digital platforms, and strengthen the network of platform scholars working on and from Africa.

WHO: Early-career researchers. Priority for funding will be given to Africa-based scholars, but there will be a few additional spaces for researchers based elsewhere and capable of co-funding their travel.
WHERE: African Centre for Cities, University of Cape Town, South Africa

WHEN: 15-17 July 2024

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 25 April 2024
