This book emphasises the urgent need to engage in South-to-Southdialogues in order to create more sustainable connections between Global Southcommunities and as an essential step towards identifying and facing globalproblems, such as state repression, social inequality and climate crises.Medrado and Rega analyse the characteristics of this connection, identify itsunique contributions to the study of digital media and social change and discuss itslong-term sustainability. They do so by focusing on instances when medianarratives in countries of different Global South(s) intertwine and transformeach other; specifically, the exchanges between Latin America (Brazil) andAfrica (Kenya). They explore how digital activism and artivism can build global movement and challenge colonial legacies. The book also discusses how to connect people with varied skill sets in different GlobalSouth contexts, promoting South-to-South solidarity, in a cross-continentalchallenge to marginalisation.

Crucial reading for students and scholars of digital activism, social movements, global media and communication, development studies andinternational studies, as well as activists and social movement organisations.
