Dear Colleagues,

The fully online annual conference <https://gamestudies.ca/cgsa-2022/> of
the Canadian Game Studies Association is happening soon. In line with our
commitments to anti-racism and decolonization the conference theme is “
Action!”

Recorded paper presentations can be accessed now and between May 31-June 3
there are live discussion panels with paper authors, workshops, and special
events including keynotes by anti-imperialist narrative designer Meghna
Jayanth (Horizon Zero Dawn, Sable, Thirsty Suitors) and self-proclaimed
AfroGeek TreaAndrea M. Russworm (Associate Professor, University of
Massachusetts, Amherst). In all, the conference features 90+ papers from
critical, humanities, and social-science approaches (see the online program
<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/122KuSszq6iS7ycE03_6aLylsihTJE7U9qWN_6UT14RI/edit?usp=sharing>
for more information and details about workshops, play sessions, and
special events).

With the online conference format, registration is free to CGSA members in
good standing (though we are still accepting donations!). Student
membership is only $15 CAD, faculty membership is only $60 CAD, and Black
and/or Indigenous students can sign-up for free. You can become a member
here <https://www.eventbrite.com/e/209279579857>.

We hope you’ll join us for an amazing online conference!
